The Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation provides entrepreneurs of color the chance to establish, grow and maintain their business. INCubatoredu gives students an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship through the creation of their own company. Each class is supported by a mentor or coach to guide student teams through the course and help with projects related to washable foot insoles or social apps; students have ample opportunities to experiment with ideas, while using lean business practices.

When teams of students progress through the program as they progress through the program, they are taught how to improve their ideas for startups by conducting customer and idea exploration as well as market research, prototyping building and pitching. This program helps improve communication and problem solving skills and teaches students how quickly they can adjust to changing conditions.

Each year, teams participate at the INCubatoredu National Pitch to compete to raise seed money for their new ventures. It is referred to as a shark-tank-style competition, and provides valuable opportunities for teams to network with investors.
